Crying is a natural response humans have to a range of emotions, including sadness, grief, joy, sympathy and frustration. Crying is a bodily response that most people can’t easily control.

Think about it this way: How would you respond if you saw someone crying? You might ask, “What’s wrong?” or “Is there anything I can do to help?

But any emotions that feel overwhelming or difficult to control can also cause tears, such as love, awe, joy, romantic longing, and gratitude, can make you cry.
