Red pandas live in the Eastern Himalayas. They can be easily identified by its coat color – reddish brown above and black underneath with white markings on the face. Red pandas have thick and bushy tails that they use for balance.

Red pandas spend most of their lives in trees. They are good at climbing trees. They spend most of time eating and sleeping.

Like giant pandas, red pandas are a bamboo-munching species native to high forests of Asia. They eat about 20,000 bamboo leaves every day. While the two animals share a name and favorite food, they’re not closely related.

When temperatures drop, red pandas conserve energy by slowing their metabolic rate. They drift into deep sleep, dropping their core body temperature and respiration rate.
