Let it snow. It is winter time.

Icy and white.

Snowflakes falling from the sky.

Snow is ice crystals that falls from a cloud. When dust particles come into contact with water vapor at very cold temperatures, water begins to crystallize. The ice crystal becomes more and more heavy until it falls down to earth.

Snow is clear, but it appears white with the way light reflects off ice crystals. Snowflakes always have six sides. Each snowflake is made up of about 200 ice crystals.

  • Light and fluffy snow are called powder.
  • Heavy snowfalls are called snowstorms.
